Extended Information:
Located in the Vosges region of France, Clairefontaine was established on the site of a 16th century paper mill. The Clairefontaine mill has been making paper since 1858 and stationery products since 1890. The River Meurthe supplies the water for Clairefontaine's Vosges mill. The water is so clean when it leaves their high performance biological treatment station that local people can fish, swim and boat downstream within sight of the manufacturing facility. The company is best known for being the first school stationery manufacturer in France. All Clairefontaine notebook paper is 90g, acid-free, pH neutral for archival quality.

Very smooth, thick paper

No bleed through or see-through with the black fountain pens I use, and the double spiral doesn't snag.

I also like that the non-perforated pages mean they don't rip out.

My first Clairefontaine notebook... September 4, 2010

This is the first Clairefontaine notebook I've purchased, and it will not be the last!

The paper is wonderfully smooth, and works well with all the FPs and inks I have. No bleed through at all.

I have the French rule, which is perfect for practicing my penmanship.

You can't go wrong with this one!
