Meet Team Goulet:

Brian Goulet is the co-president and our chief operations guy, managing everything in the shop. He is the creator of the 'Goulet packing method' and is responsible for overseeing all of the shipping, packing, and ink sample operations. He is also the chief blogger behind Ink Nouveau, and has no shortage of ideas for new blog posts and videos. Brian grew up in Glen Allen, VA with entrepreneurial parents who instilled in him a great sense of independence. He graduated from Virginia Tech in 2006 with a degree in residential property management, then spent a few years working with his dad doing home powerwashing and carpet cleaning. After turning to woodworking as a hobby (see full story below), eventually the Goulet Pen Company was formed. Brian is a very hands-on dad and loves spending time with his little boy.
Rachel Goulet is the co-president and the support system behind GPC, responsible for the website, accounting, purchase orders, human resources, social media, and general help everywhere else. She's also a full-time mom, which often keeps her even busier than GPC! She is originally from Centreville, VA, and graduated from Virginia Tech in 2006 with a degree in business management. Before GPC, she spent a few years working as a Federal recruiter, and a few years doing Excel programming and process engineering at a Fortune 500 company. But now having a taste for running her own business and being home with her little boy, she has no plans to ever go back to the corporate world! In her (limited) spare time, she enjoys all things music (singing, playing piano, songwriting), video games (huge fan of anything with Mario), and most of all, spending time with her family. Brian and Rachel met in late 2001 and have been married since 2006.
Drew Brown is our shipping manager and helps keep our shop very well-organized. He really enjoys doodling and drawing, and since working at GPC, he has caught Brian's contagious passion for fountain pens. Drew and Brian have been friends since 1st grade, where they shared a love for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Power Rangers. In college, Drew studied digital video at the School of Communication Arts, and loves to make movies in his spare time. He has a passion for '80's metal, coffee, video games, and action comics.
Alex Caporale is a proud graduate of Virginia Tech (yup, another one!) with a degree in Business, Hospitality and Tourism Management. She is our executive admin and customer service rep, and she helps to keep us organized with all of the crazy goings on here every day. She's notorious for spilling ink on herself and has (so far) ruined 3 pairs of jeans, but she perseveres and continues to help us write your personal handwritten notes you've come to expect and love. She loves Harry Potter, pumpkin flavored food, and listening to Taylor Swift despite the hassle she gets about it from the rest of the crew.
Sam Vaughn is a fellow graduate of our alma mater, Virginia Tech with a degree in Economics. He's our numbers guy, helping manage our inventory and Ink Drop/ink samples. He enjoys hiking, reading, and playing his guitar. He's involved in Young Life and enjoys listening to others and sharing life experiences. He's a magician with a frisbee and he can quote movies like it's his job. He's a bit of a spark plug, and he has a weakness for sweets.
Ben Morehead is a graduate of Radford University and a good ol’ boy from Southwest Virginia, who loves the outdoors (especially fishing). He has discovered an interest in fountain pens as he’s learned about them through his working here. He has an affinity for his Stainless Steel Lamy Studio, which he has dubbed ‘The Fish Pen” (he likens its finish to a Striped Bass). He is a packing and ink sampling machine, trained rigorously by Brian in the ‘ways of the Goulet’.
Randall Watford is a proud native of the Buckeye state. He helps out in the shop, pulling and packing orders, and doing his absolute favorite activity...ink samples! He has a girlfriend named Ellen and is an avid fan of Stepbrothers thanks to Ben and Sam's brainwashing. His disposition is reserved, and he often shakes his head at the shenanigans from the others.
Joseph Goulet is our almost-2-year-old toddler, and while not much actual help in the shop yet, we think he has enormous potential and a big future ahead of him within GPC. Joseph brings a lot of energy, joy, and inspiration to the Goulet team. He continues to expand his vocabulary and keeps us all entertained with his new words. His favorite activities are spinning in circles, playing with cars, and watching the Cars movies.
Our second child, Ellie Goulet, was born just before Christmas 2011. She's a beauty! :)
